Notes About Installation

Install the combustion 3.0.4 Updater over combustion 3, combustion 3.0.1, combustion 3.0.2 or combustion 3.0.3 software.

Following is a list of requirements for installing the combustion 3.0.4 Updater:

·        You can install the combustion 3.0.4 Updater on Microsoft Windows 2000 or Windows XP operating systems.

·        Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or later is required. You can download the latest version of Internet Explorer by using the “Windows Update” feature in the Windows Start Menu, or you can go to: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.asp.

 

 

Issues Addressed

The following describes the issues addressed by this release.

 

3:2 Pulldown

·        When you add a 3:2 Pulldown sequence option (from the 3:2 Pulldown list) to a clip and render the clip, the frame rate of the rendered clip is now correct.

·        combustion Guess 3:2 Phase function analysis is now improved.

 

Color Corrector

·        Changes in the Color Correction Basics Value and Mag-Grn parameters are now kept when you go to another panel and then go back to the Color Correction Basics controls.

 

Edit Operator

·        You can now import a clip between invalid mark in/mark out points.

 

Expressions

·        You can now change the animation curve of a channel in the Timeline after converting one of two expressions, within the same channel category, to keyframes.

 

File I/O

·        The Footage operator thumbnail now displays correctly OpenEXR file formats.

·        PAL DV file formats are now rendered correctly as PAL file formats by the DV Video Encoder.

·        The default import mode for Adobe? Photoshop? file formats is now set to Color+Alpha.

·        You can now continue working in combustion after you cancel the import of an Adobe Illustrator? file.

·        The server list no longer gets duplicated when a workspace is imported.

·        You can now browse files by setting Format to All Files in the Open dialog and Open Workspace dialog.

 

Linear Keyer

·        Resampling the Key Color using the Linear Keyer color picker now yields the correct result.

 

Paint Operator

·        The speed and stability is improved when working at high resolutions in Paint, particularly when using the clone/reveal tools.

·        Creating a size one custom brush in the brush palette no longer creates an unusable custom brush.

·        You can now change the parameters of the Distort Mirror effect applied to a Paint object when working in two-viewport layout that display a Paint operator in one viewport and another Paint operator in the other viewport.

 

QuickTime?

·        You can now import and render to a QuickTime format with a depth up to 16 bits.

·        You can now render to a QuickTime format and not select any codec.

 

Render Queue

·        The stand-alone Render Queue no longer crashes if the output path is not set and you choose to render.

 

Miscellaneous

·        Moving one of the four corners of a layer with Animate off will now shift all the keyframes of the layer’s four corners.

·        You can now continue working in combustion after you choose Delete and Undo Delete of a layer containing an Adobe Photoshop footage.

·        Changes to the properties of the Stylize Bump Map operator no longer cause instability.

·        You can now scrub the Current Time indicator in the Playback controls while playing the audio clip in the Audio controls.
